Another Year!

We left the house fairly early (at least for us) to go to The Markets of Marion and the shoe store in Belleville.

No shoes, but did get sun glasses for my new eye glasses at the Sun Glass place at The Markets of Marion Flea Market..

Had to visit Beall's Outlet in Mulberry - I bought a top, but Terry did not find anything (that is a first).

Came home to read, Terry was doing laundry, and preparing for our New Year's Eve dinner.

Terry out did herself.  We had shrimp and champagne to start.  Then, steak, baby sweet potatoes, green beans, rolls and butter.

Realizing that we will not make it to midnight, we had our dessert - blueberry pie and ice cream at
9 p.m.  Life in the fast lane!!!!

The Car Arrives and is DIRTIER than when i dropped it off

After breakfast, we waited to hear from the transport person.  He called about 12:30 to say that he was by the Walmart near our house.

My car was off the truck and looked so dirty, we knew our first stop was for a car wash.  We dropped the rental car at the house (cannot return it until Tuesday or Wednesday), took our bags out of the car and headed for the car wash..

Went to the car wash for the works!  It's looking so much better.

In the same shopping area is a chicken salad restaurant and we went there for lunch.  Yummy!

From there we went to Bed Bath and Beyond for a pillow for me - we'll see if it helps me sleep.

Then we went to explore the new area of Fenney.  We had to call for instructions as it was too new for our GPS.

We took Hwy 301 to Hwy 468 (missed it the first time - no sign and poorly marked intersection).

Toured the sales office/recreation center and looked at the Grill, the pool, etc.  There was a young family in the pool - it is COLD.  Oh, to be young.

It is a good 10 miles from our house and a good 5 miles from the south end of The Villages and Brownwood, the third town center.

We then went and finished our grocery shopping.  Got our New Year's eve dinner, appetizer for party on New Year's Day at Diane and Tom's, etc.

Came home to unpack our bags.  I still have my office to unpack - just ran out of steam..

Shopped Until we Almost Dropped

We had a quick breakfast (I had brought oatmeal packages) and we added strawberries.  Had bought milk last night.

Dressed warmly as it was in the 50's.

Enterprise driver picked us up.  Nice gentleman, had been Alumni Coordinator for Georgia Tech.

We got a Nissen Versa (very basic car).

Since we were already in Sumter Landing, we went over to pick up our credentials and their bag of goodies (maps, etc.)

We then went to KeKe's for lunch and then bought out the Dollar Tree in the same shopping center.

On to Office Depot for ink for the printer that is in the car.

Then to Walgreens for vitamins and a few other items.

Tired yet?  Then to Walmart for important items - computer paper, coffee, and booze!

Came home and put everything away.  A nap was in order, in addition to hot compresses on my stye on the right eye.  The eye is so much better than it was last week at this time.

I made dinner! Okay -okay so I just put the chicken on the table, opened a bottle of wine, and threw some greens and tomatoes into two bowls- it was enough to make Terry the cleaner upper..

We drank a toast to the next two months and to our Dad who died 45 years ago today.
Miss him and think about him often.

Just reading now and at 8 p.m. Shark Tank!  We know where Terry will be!

We are in The Villages

Long Day!

American Blue Private Car Service picked me up and then picked up Terry (he was early - bless his heart).

We got to the airport early (I know this is no surprise to those of you who know us).

Just as they were getting ready to board - they called my name.  Asked if we could manage the exit row.  I said I wasn't sure.  They asked for other volunteers - needing two people ADULTS traveling together (lots of families with kids on the flight).

I told Terry that I had turned it down, she said she probably would have said yes.  So, I went back and said yes, as they had no other volunteers.  NICE and roomy.  Terry was in the middle, I was on the aisle, but she could get up without my moving!!!

We took the tram between the gate and the baggage claim.  Got our bags - they were right there!

Went to the ground level and called Uber.  They said they would meet us on the second level - area 31.  Went back upstairs and schlepped down the whole baggage claim area and our driver just pulled up.  Nice young man - a real talker.

First, we thought we'd go to Enterprise to rent the car, but as we got close to The Villages, it was obvious we would not make it before closing time, so we came directly to the house.

Jen and Clem met us and then took us grocery shopping. We bought chicken and salad for dinner and toilet paper (the house was almost totally out of toilet paper-that could have been challenging).

Had our dinner and helped our tenant with a lock change after she had a problem with the live-in boyfriend or husband (we've never been sure what he is/was).

Car transport called - he's in the Atlanta area.  He'll drop my car on Saturday - last stop instead of first stop.  Enterprise will pick us up in the morning.

Step One

Here's step one - Marilyn's car ready to be loaded onto a car transport to be driven to Florida.

Of the cars waiting to be loaded, mine appeared to be the only one that was dirty!  However, in below zero weather, I was not going to run it through a car wash.

Home

Home - sitting on my chair, knowing that I should finish unpacking.  Maybe the unpacking fairy will come and unpack the last bit for me!

The weather overnight in Elizabethtown was a stormy one.  Tornado watch!

By morning, the storms were moving south so we headed out-going north!

Glenn insisted on driving most of the way and I drove just from Merriville to O'Hare. His car was parked in the remote lot.

We had stopped at Olive Garden for soup, salad and breadsticks.  That was in Lafayette and was a perfect break in the drive.

Just before the airport,  I misunderstood his directions and got in the wrong lane so went back on 294 headed south-got off at Irving and reentered 294 going north.  He was not amused!!  Only conflict in 3 days!

Got to Terry's and got her things out of the car and unpacked her, before heading home.

Winter waited for us - sorry!

On The Road

Breakfast at hotel and on road by 9 am.

Yes, they had their cinnamon buns!

Rain on and off.  Glenn put Rain X on windshield and rain kind of wicks off!

Glenn drove until lunch at Legends near Smyrna Tennessee- I drove from lunch to Elizabethtown, KY

We registered at the Baymont Hotel and Glenn went to play frisbee golf and I rested and checked emails, etc.

We meet at 7 pm and walked over to Texas Outlaw.  One day ahead of Ethel and Steve.

Glenn and his beer and ribs!  Happy!

Terry said OHare shut down because of tornados in area.  Hope Arlene and Joan get home tonight as planned.  Glad Terry did not wait until today to fly.

Terry in pain and will see her doctor on Friday.

Shows rain on way home but too warm for ice...hopefully!

Terry Home/Marilyn In Atlanta

Got up early and laundered our linens and towels.

Made a lunch for both of us.

Made coffee and cleaned out refrigerator.  Three garbage bags.  Just missed garbage men.

Left a little before 9.  So hard to leave Terry behind.  We hugged and hugged!

She had a van pick her up.  Wheel chair at airport.  Did not have to take shoes off because of age!

It was an easy ride to Atlanta.  A little rain just outside of Atlanta.  Glenn already at hotel. Holiday Inn Express Norcross.  So glad to see him.

He took car to play frisbee golf and I rested.

Texted with Terry while she was on the plane and called Stacy for her as she could not text her.

Terry's home.  Stacy took her for groceries.

Glenn and I had dinner at an oriental buffet, we are stuffed.

I'm getting ready for a Township meeting at 8:30 Atlanta time.

Praying

More packing.  Trying to leave some room for Glenn's luggage.

Visited ER again!

Terry got another pain shot and prescription for a muscle relaxant!

We just need to get her medicated sufficiently to get home.

I leave before her to meet Glenn in Atlanta.

Since we haven't seen any of the movies, not watching the Academy Awards.  I know our friend Ida is watching.

Friends Arlene and Joan are both feeling punk with upper respiratory complaints.  They fly out on Tuesday.

Diane and Tom called to say they had stopped by to say good-bye.  We were at the ER!

Just heard that one of our favorite Sachsel cousins, Annette, had a major stroke.

Her "niece" is driving back from Arizona with her husband.  They were scheduled to leave next week.  We are praying for Annette's recovery.

Landlord is NOT selling and we can have Jan and Feb next year.

Making Travel Plans

Packing and more packing!

Car is somewhat packed.  Terry is taking her big suitcase with.  All the rest I'll take.  Will try to save some space in the car for Glenn.

We will finish tomorrow and last minute stuffMonday.

We were supposed to go to hear Patchouli and then dinner with the BJBE group, but too much to do.  Also, it would be too much for Terry.

Diane, Tom, Gloria, Lynn, Joyce and Sandy went to hear Patchouli and loved them.

This morning, we made flight reservations for Terry.  Car will pick her up to take her to the airport.  Flying first class!

Made hotel reservation near where Glenn will return his car.

Spent a good part of the evening cancelling hotel reservations and making new ones.

Had to do mapquests too.  Even with GPS, I like to have a mapquest.

First time we have left early and not doing the cleaning.  Caretaker said she'd clean - bless her heart.

A Lost Day

Friday's blog- first time I forgot to write!

To our loyal followers, I apologize.

I went to Walmart and got Terry's three prescriptions.  She seems to be doing better.

I also went to Chase Bank and those nice people gave me money.

Went to the post office to mail some things.

Went to postal station and our mail was there.

We have not had to call either post office once.

We just sat and read for the balance of the day.  Tried to nap too.  We were both pretty exhausted from the night before.

Terry went into the den to watch Shark Tank and a 20/20 follow up.

I had it on the TV too but I fell asleep and it was after 1 am when I woke up and went to bed.

911

Up early to work and do some laundry.

Took Terry to Weight Watchers, she was up a touch.

Breakfast of eggs Benedict at the Hacienda Country Club.  We sat inside overlooking the golf course.  It had rained and was cool, not too many people on the course.

Went over to Dollar Tree for a few items and had planned some other errands, but it started to rain.  Wimps that we are,
We headed home.

Clem came by to fix the lawn sprinkler.

Carol and Harry (our friend Fran's sister and brother-in-law) arrived. We had some appetizers and then went to Ethel's(their cousin).

Found out that is Carol's birthday and tomorrow will be Ethel's birthday.  Decided to go to Belle Glade Country Club for dinner.  Seems that Fred, a friend of Ethel's owns the restaurant and he picked up the tab!

Birthday girls.

The rest of us.  Carol, Terry, Ethel, Harry and me.

Came home and Terry came out of the washroom in pain and barely able to put weight on her left leg.  She felt like it was broken or she had a blood clot.

I called 911 and three burley young men got her on a gurney and off to The Villages Emergecy Room.

It is crowded and I'm writing this as we wait.

X-ray and ultra sound.  Nothing broken, no blood clot. Siatica?  Administered 3 shots!

2:00 am - home

Rainy Day

We decided to go into Ocala to the Appleton Museum.

They had an exhibit on Frida Kahlo, through the lens of Nickolas Muray.  Turns out he was one of her lovers.

He also photographed her with her husband, the artist Diego Rivera.

The photos were wonderful.  She had given him some gifts of her work and copies of those were included.

This was between the parking lot and the museum entrance.

As you walked into the museum, this was front and center.

On the way back to The Villages, I found navy shoes.  This may not seem news worthy to you but I've been on a quest for a number of years.

I found navy sandals AND navy flats this season!

We looked for the restaurant that the owners of  Lopez and Havana Country Club were to have opened  years ago.

We could not find it.  Found out they never opened, even though the name and address were on Terry's membership card.  We went to Lopez Country Club instead.  Wonderful lunch at one of our favorite places.

Came home and I went into a two-hour conference call for the Contracts Committee of my Realtor Board.

After dinner (I cooked again), Terry and I both listened in on a conference call with the Women of Reform Judaism.

The call addressed WRJ's approach for advocating for issues of concern with the new administration in Washington.

Terry reports that she is feeling some better.

You Plan God Laughs

Terry has had some leg pain and decided she should have it looked at.

So instead of going to Eaton's Beach for a cooking class, we were at Exceptional Urgent Care.

Dr John Im saw her. She had an X-ray and confirmed no fracture.  They put a cold pad and wrap on her knee.

For those of us who have seen Dr Im know what came next- right, a shot in the tush.

He told Terry no stretching!  Some arthritis!  Welcome to my world.

We then went to Walmart to fill her prescription.  I grocery shopped for a few things while she waited for her prescription.

After taking the groceries home we went to Lil Bits for lunch.

Resting and reading and then I made dinner!

We did not go to the Air Force concert tonight either.

Terry just changed the knee pad.

She'll take the Mobic in the morning.

Hope she will get some relief.

Mahj

We worked until it was time for a bite of lunch and then made our way over to Arlene and Joan's to play mahj.

We both did well.

Terry took the photo and I edited myself out of the photo.

We came home where I did laundry and Terry made dinner.

We spent the rest of the night reading.

Visors

Did laundry while I worked.

Picked up Arlene and Joan to go to the Sumter Art Fair.  Ran into Ethel and Steve twice!

We all bought visors for ourselves and as gifts.  It was a sunny day and we were asked where we got the visors.  We should have gotten a commission.

We wanted to eat on the water, but settled for eating inside at a table by the water, at Cody's.  The food was good and everyone enjoyed their meal.

The lame boat ride with tourists.

We came home and took naps as we both had not slept well last night.

Terry is doing laundry and we are reading.

Chicks

Slept a little later, did some work, and went to The Flea Market for a few things and stopped at Marie Rose Consignment Shop as we headed back to The Villages.

Neither of us bought anything!

Had lunch at The Chicken Salad Chick.
Delicious!  They opened last year but we never got there.  They are a chain restaurant specializing in different types of chicken salad and soups, sandwiches and sides.

The ladies room is marked CHICKS,  the men's room is marked CHICK MAGNET.

Terry has been looking for a specific top and saw it advertised at Stein Mart on sale, no less.

Our last stop was the postal station to pick up Terry's mail.

It started to rain when we left Stein Mart - raining on my newly washed car!

We had the leftover pot roast for dinner as we start to wind down what's in the freezer.

Brakes and Shrimp

Up and working early as we had an early appointment to get the car checked out.

The car needed new brakes, oil and lube, and tire rotation!

We had planned to go to The Hurricane Restaurant after the car was done, not knowing about the brakes.

Since replacing the brakes would take some time they had a gentleman drive us there.

We knew his life story by the end of the ten-minute drive!  Worked for Government, from New Jersey, on second wife.  Renting in The Villages.  Wife working in New Jersey.  Lived with wife's daughter while looking for property in New Jersey.  Wife is a grandmother which keeps her in New Jersey.

Both wives same height, eyes and name!

He worked for the Defense Department, forced to take an early retirement!  I can only hope that his job did not require confidentiality!

Had our delicious shrimp baskets while looking at the water and watching people dock their boats at the restaurant.

Sign thanking boaters for visiting, as they head back to their boats.  Also our view at lunch.

Terry walked down to the dock and took the photo as she was coming back up.

A nice young gal picked us up.  She's the cashier and was doing double duty.

We stopped in a store in Leesburg that I heard about, as they put on a fashion show for a group.  Nothing appealed to us and prices were high.

Looked around the Hospital Thrift Shop since it was on our way home- left empty handed.

Stopped for gas and went to Publix for a few things.  While Terry was in the store, I returned some business calls.

My mail was in the box, hopefully, Terry's will arrive tomorrow.

While opening mail, I fielded some more business calls.

Terry is preparing to go into the den to watch Shark Tank.  I may watch in the living room.

Nun and Politics

Day started with work and laundry for me.

After lunch, we went to the post office as Terry had something on the environment to send to Jeremy.

From there we went to a new consignment shop in the area.  It was lame and we spent only a few minutes there.

We had reservations at the local library to hear an author speak on her book.

We had met her last year and bought, and enjoyed, her book.  She was very personable.

This is from the Internet as I forgot to take a photo while at the library.

We got home in time for 6 pm dinner at Arlene and Joan's.  They had a yummy dinner.  Ethel and Steve were there too.

We got into a political discussion - liberals vs conservatives.  Mom always said not to talk politics but I guess we forgot Mom's words!

Maintenance

Worked and then went to the beauty shop.

Came home for a quick bite and then went for a pedicure.  The wind was blowing like crazy when we left the salon.

Had a conference call with the company I teach for.  During the call, I got a tornado-warning alert on my phone.

Fortunately, no tornado!

Terry wanted to go to Kohl's so we ventured forth!

Terry promised me a cheeseburger at Five Guys!  OMG delicious!  We shared a small order of fries.  A family of six could be feed with the small order of fries.

As long as we were so close to a Belle's Outlet, we had to stop in there.

Long story short, the black tights Terry bought the other day actually were navy.  Which we discovered when she wore them!

So after she bought a black and white top at Kohl's she now needed black tights!

At Belle's, she found a similar top to the one she had just purchased at Kohl's and it was navy and white.  So, she could wear it with the blue tights!  No need to purchase black tights!

You see it coming, right?  We went back to Kohl's and she returned the top she had just purchased!

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day.

We exchanged cards this morning.  We had purchased the same card!

Terry usually weighs in at Weight Watchers on Wednesday, but we have a full day planned for tomorrow, so she did it today.  It went well!

Decided to try Tierra Del Sol, as we heard that the food had gotten much better.  We both enjoyed our breakfast.

We sat on the large screened porch and had this view.  Golf course starts where the trees are.

Fountain on walk to the restaurant.

We ran some errands and had some success at Beall's Outlet.  I'm done!

We had our prime rib leftovers for dinner.

Joyce had brought chocolate covered strawberries last night.  We forgot to serve them, so had them tonight for dessert with our champagne.  Here are a couple of them on a plate.  They came in a heart-shaped box!

Township meeting tonight!  The meeting was a short one.

Friends

Busy day, got in some work before we left for lunch with Martha and Marcella, who drove in from Orlando to spend the night with friends with whom they taught at Central Michigan.

Had a good lunch at Evans Prairie Country Club.  We sat outside, it was a touch cooler than we would have liked, but pleasant.

Went to Anthony's so Terry could return something that did not work.

Went to recycle three bags of old newspapers at the Temple.

Next was a trip to Publix to pick up items for dinner.  It was a mini Kelvyn Park High School reunion.

Diane and Tom and Joyce and Evy were here for a fun evening.

We started out playing Left Center Right and then played Dirty Uno with the cards we bought at the hospital resale shop.  It was a fun evening.

Lend Me A Tenor

Work, paying bills, etc took up most of the morning for us.

I did laundry too, so busy morning.

We had our leftover Chinese for lunch- it was delicious!

Tenors is the theme this week, as we saw Lend Me A Tenor, at the Melon Patch Theatre, this afternoon.

Arlene, Joan Terry and I had been discussing Texas Roadhouse and decided to stop there for dinner.

We had wonderful salads and prime rib. Arlene and Joan each had a steak and said theirs were good also.

They were just building when we left last year.

Terry texted Jessica to tell her where we were, as it's her favorite restaurant.

Saturday, February 11, 2017

Three Tenors + One

Did not sleep well.  "Made" coffee without putting water into the machine.  Water was sitting in the pot on the warmer!

We picked up Arlene and Joan to go to the craft fair at Lake Ridge Winery.  Terry drove since driving without having slept did not seem wise.

We all bought earrings.

We came back to The Villages for lunch at Cracker Barrel.  Arlene had never been in one before.

We next stopped at Belk's so Joan could return something.

Went for gas, $2.11.  A jerk almost hit us as he was backing up.  Terry laid on the horn and he stopped inches from hitting us.  He then started up again with us still in his path!  Fortunately, Terry had room to move away from him.

Terry's mail was in the box!

After taking a nap, Joy came to the house and we picked up Arlene and Joan to go to The Sharon.  We met Ethel and Steve and Diane and Tom for Three Tenors+ one concert.

The tenor lower left was our waiter a couple of times when they were at Tiera Del Sol.

Temple

We both worked a good part of the day.

We both were dealing with misbehaving websites.  Terry in paying multiple tax bills online.  Me struggling with 4 data bases recently initiated by the online school for which I work.  The original worked well, you could even find a student easily by just using their name!

Then I was making hotel reservations for our trip home.  One hotel was a snap.  The other wanted me to sign up for their credit card and would NOT let me put in MY visa number.  Three telephone calls later, I think we are good to go.

Picked up Arlene and Joan to meet Ethel and Steve at Cheng's for dinner.

After dinner, we went to Temple.  Again, they did not put our grandfather's name on the yarzeit list.

Services were nice and similar to ours at home.  Sheldon, the spiritual leader, gave a sermon asking people to support the new Rabbi.

My box of mail came, hopefully Terry's will be here tomorrow.  I spent the rest of the evening opening, sorting and reading mail.

Terry was catching up on emails.

Trolley

Got up early to answer student questions.

Had our leftover pancakes for breakfast and they were yummy.

Participated in a call-in to make recommendations for donations to political candidates.  They moved the agenda around to accommodate my having only a short time on the call.

Picked up Arlene and Joan to go to Sumter Landing to take the trolley ride.

We met Ethel there.  The 12:30 trolley was booked so we signed up for the 1:30 trolley.

We went to Panera for lunch - it was Thursday so they had my favorite soup!

We then went on the trolley.  Every year it has been interesting and has gone into the newer areas south of us.  This year, they stayed North in our  territory.

We walked around going into the stores and taking in Market night.

Steve was in a class and then was going to pick up Ethel.

We came home to our leftovers from last night.

Got a telephone call telling me that a long-time friend and mentor, Bob Cook, had passed away.  Sad!

Old Friends

Another morning of getting up early to work.  Lots of students requiring my help.

Took Terry to Weight Watchers, she was happy when she came out!  She stayed the same.

Went to First Watch for yummy pancakes.  Terry had another $2 off coupon!

Came home and Terry cleaned and cooked!  She did not want, or need, my help!  Let's hear it for her - I'm a lucky gal to room with her.

I had a safety committee meeting for my Realtor Board that I called in to.

Barb and Bernie arrived at 5 pm.  We had our champagne and appetizers in the sun room.

Moved into the dining room for a lovely dinner of salad, chicken roll ups, mashed potatoes, green beans and rolls.  Dessert was a key-lime pie.

Conversation just flowed and soon it was time for them to leave so Barb could get up for work.

Tuesday, February 7, 2017

Chico's

After working - lots of new students for online classes.

Guess the promotions the school ran did the trick.

Also did 3 loads of laundry before dressing for lunch and the Chico fashion show at Katie Belles.

We picked up Arlene and Joan and met Ethel there.

Lunch was good - a nice salad to start.

Lunch itself was a piece of salmon and two pieces of pork, new potatoes and veggies.  We both brought home the pork for dinner.

The downside was that the music was so loud it was painful.  I tore up a napkin and put it into my ears.

Went to the ladies room and was gone from the table for 10 minutes and missed half of the fashion show. The show hadn't even started when I left.  It was the most lame show!

In other years it was a more extensive show and they gave out goodie bags and discount coupons.  Nada!  We did stop in Chico's and Ethel and I each bought something-used my $25 gift card.  Will try the top on tomorrow.

We dropped off Arlene and Joan, dropped off our food.  Headed to the post office with our valentines.

Terry was the only one in our group not wearing Chico's to lunch!

So.... we stopped at the consignment shop again, but nothing worked for her.

We decided to go into Belleview to see about shoes - a sale was on and we each got a pair of white sandals.

Last stop was Publix for dinner tomorrow night when Barb and Bernie will be here for dinner.

Dinner, more work and reading rounded off the day.

DooWop

Worked all morning until it was time to leave to run errands (post office and Chase Bank).

Then headed over to Joyce's for a yummy lunch and to play mah Jong.

Terry was HOT.  She made mah Jong more than the rest of us.

Came home to a quick dinner.  Finished off the eclair that I had brought home yesterday from Perkins.  We got 4 pieces out of it!

Picked up Arlene and Joan to go to the Sharon to see The DooWop Project.

If you liked the play Jersey Boys you would have loved them.  It was a great program and high energy.

Good To Laugh

Worked most of the morning.

Wrote Speaker of the House Ryan telling him what I thought of him and the Trump administration!

Had a quick lunch and picked up Arlene and Joan to go to the Ice House Theatre, in Mt Dora.

Funny play.  Felt good to laugh!

Did not stay in Mt Dora for dinner as it was their big art fair weekend.

Stopped at Perkins-good food and no TV's with the Super Bowl on.

Brought dessert home.

Terry took this photo outside of Perkins.

Watching Commercials on Super Bowl.

Tampa

Got up early to do some work before heading down to Tampa to meet Elyse and family at Jason's Deli.

Forgot to take a photo of Elyse, Mark and Katya.

So you'll have to settle for one of Katya's photos from her modeling portfolio.

After lunch, our plan was to go to Costco which was on the way home.

What we did not know was that their grand opening is February 8th!  We could have camped out in their parking lot for four days, but that seemed unwise.

After exiting the highway, we went to Stover's candy.  Chocolate covered almond supply running low!

Last stop was Publix for a few things.

Another quiet night of reading.

Photo of cousin, who had heart attack while on mountain in Colorado, shows him making good progress.  Glad his wife is keeping us posted, via Facebook, once or twice a day.

Just got word that the son of a Temple friend has died.  A young man with 4 young children.

His Mom died a few years ago and his Dad is still coming to terms with that loss.  Our hearts are with their family.

Baubles

Picked up Arlene, Joan got an appointment for a hair cut, so she stayed home.

First stop was a craft fair.

We all bought earrings and necklaces that are crocheted.

Stopped for lunch - egg salad on bagels. Too warm to sit outside.

Stopped into the hospital resale shop so Arlene could look around.

Arlene had heard about another resale shop - New To You.  We found it thanks to GPS and an U turn or two.  Terry and Arlene got earrings there too.  I caught up with the Township while waiting for them.

Both of us had mail today, so opening mail was the first order of business when we got home.

Terry is doing laundry and we are both reading and relaxing.

Thursday, February 2, 2017

Glorious Day

We wanted to enjoy the weather so spent most of the day outside.

We started with lunch at Gator Joe's.  Don't ask the name of the city- I cannot pronounce it, much less spell it!

Waiting for our fried shrimp baskets!

The beach below.

Stopped in the Ladies' Room- stall doors are lovely.

Diane told us that a Goodwill opened near Walmart.  Well okay - we had to check it out!

Mardi Gras at Spanish Springs.

We wore our beads but not our masks.

Listened to the Dixieland Jazz group and then the Jazz Band.

Came home to do laundry, eat dinner and read.
