Warmer Day

After breakfast, Terry continued cooking the pot roast and veggies, which we had for lunch.

After breakfast, I had a conference call with the online school I teach for and recorded a greeting for new students.

We ran some errands and then went to see a home for rent in Lynnhaven.

Next stop was Sumter Landing to walk.

We looked at the vendors' wares but bought nothing.

Stopped at Ruby Thai for dinner.  They may have new owners as food was rather bland.

Reading, doing Facebook, and watching a little TV.  Terry doing laundry too.

BJBE Florida

It was a cold, but sunny, day.

I tell people that I bring my cleaning lady and cook to Florida.  But, before you get impressed, know that it is my sister.

She likes to clean and cook and who am I to stand in her way.

While she toiled away, I called into a Contract's Committee meeting with my Realtor Board.

At 6 pm, the BJBE group, Ethel and Steve and Arlene and Joan came for a pot roast dinner.

Terry was disappointed that the meat was not as good as her usual pot roast.

No one complained but she was disappointed.  We tried to recruite her as a member of our non-cooking club.

Fabulous Concert

We needed groceries and headed to The Fresh Market.  Bought a few things but thought everything was over priced.  Now we know why we've never been there before.

Finished our shopping at Publix!

Diane's golfing buddy's husband was an entertainer in The Villages, but has had to stop entertaining because of health problems.  There was a free tribute concert tonight honoring him.

Every entertainer who performs here was on the bill.  Two and half hours of unbelievable singing.

There were about 500 people there.  Diane and Tom had two tables.

Ran into friends Joy and Bob, after running into her friend, Jackie.

Judy and Jim, our landlords, Patti and Jack's neighbors in New York, were at one of Diane and Tom's tables.  We had not seen them in a few years.

At the end the honoree sang- still a great voice.

Cool Day

Picked up Arlene and Joan to go to the Author's Showcase - much bigger this year.  It was Central Florida authors and in two rooms at Eisenhower Regional Center. Joan bought a book.

Since we were south, we thought that we would look around in Brownwood and have lunch.  Forgot it was Farmer's Market day, so we tubed that plan.

Decided to go to Belle Glade Country Club for lunch.  Arlene and Joan insisted on treating us to lunch for driving and being their tour guides.

Drove over to Rohan Rec Center at the end of Morse Ave.  They had not rememberef being there last year until they toured it again.

Went to a consignment shop that has a lot of Chico clothes.  Arlene and I both were successful!

Came home to nap and read.

If you are keeping track, my mail came yesterday, Terry's today!

55th Anniversary

Late start this morning.

Finally got out of the house to run errands.

Went to the post office to send something to the Township.  Terry forgot her cell at home - had to go back home for it.  Who said that we are not addicted to our 'phones.

Went to Chico's to return a few things that did not work.

Got gas at $2.16 a gallon - gas station was a zoo.

Changed clothes and went to Diane and Tom's to help celebrate their 55th anniversary!

Our club 55 years ago - missing Diane and Angie in photo

55 years later

Yummy cake shared by 20 of us.

Now watching Mary Tyler Moore special after her death this week.

Spanish Springs

Got up early to work as we had a 10 am appointment to meet Joanne, a friend of one of my students.  She has a house that she rents out, however, she has long-term renters for Jan and Feb.

We visited with her in her home for awhile and then went to Spanish Springs.

Had lunch at Panera - they had my soup.  Then went across the street to Picture You.  I found  earrings, to go with a pendent I bought in Mt Dora.

Walked over to Chico's and I did some damage there.

Walked into Patchington but did not buy anything.

Talbots just opened  today, Terry tried on some things but bought nothing.

Next stop was Walgreens, where I bought some allergy medication, and we got some wine.  I also taught Terry how to print a photo off of her cell phone.

Last stop was Beall's Outlet.  We got a gift, I bought a pair of slacks and Terry got FOUR tops.

Busy trying to catch up on newspapers!

Mah Jong

Windy, cooler day.

Clem, the caretaker, and a handyman, came and fixed the fan.

I did laundry and ironed - so domestic!

We then ran errands - Chase, Post Office and Walmart.  BTW: If you are keeping score, Terry's mail did arrive on Saturday.

We took our mah Jong set across the street for a five-handed game.

We were almost through when Steve came to pick up Ethel.

Joan, Ethel, Terry, Arlene and Steve.

Had our leftover steak for dinner. Yummy

I participated in our Township meeting while Terry worked on her computer.

Tornado Warning

Worked most of morning and then picked up Arlene and Joan for a matinee of The Odd Couple.

Very windy day and just made it into the car, leaving the play, before the sky opened up.

Decided to just go home if rain continued, but it cleared and we went to the Glenview Country Club.  Had delicious steak dinner.

Terry took this photo of Arlene, Joan and me sitting on the Glenview Country Club Porch.  While finishing our coffee Terry's phone went off with a loud warning alert for weather.

Since there was a break in the rain, we drove home.  Had to bring our garbage back to curb after it blew into street.

Phones went off again so we took our purses and electronics into the hallway between Terry's bedroom, her bath and the den to wait out tornado warning.

Terry tracking storms on her I-Pad.

Obama leaves

Watched the TV until Obamas greeted the Trumps at the White House.  Turned TV to Discovery Channel while we were out.

Picked up Arlene and Joan to go to the Blue Parrott Craft Fair.

It gets smaller and smaller each year.  Entrance is reconfigured each year too.

Arlene needed to go to Sam's Club to pick up a prescription.  And we all needed something at Dollar Tree.

After lunch and afternoon naps, we got my mail (hopefully Terry's will be here tomorrow).

We then went to Sumter Landing and walked.  Stopped into Van Husen, where I bought a shell.

We got hungry so had pizza and salad at Bravo.

Worked at my computer and then opened mail.  Terry reading Facebook.  Waiting word on condition of cousin Chuck, taken off a mountain and flown to Denver hospital with heart attack.

Next stop - Too Jays

Spanish Springs- yummy eggs, lox, onion scramble with bagel.
We have left overs.

Next was the Farmers Market in Spanish Springs.  We got some oranges and will see if they are better than Publix.

We stopped at Jo-Ann Fabrics so I could get supplies to use to shorten two pairs of slacks that I bought on sale.

Picked up Arlene and Joan for a Noel Coward play.

The new theatre at Terra Del Sol.  Cute play though dated.  We enjoyed the preview- tickets were only $15!

Presidents

Terry and I went to Clermont to the Presidents Hall of Fame.

They have a miniature White House and poor wax figures depicting Presidents.

Here we are with Barack

The White House.

It's always interesting to see this about Lincoln and Kennedy.

Here are all of the Presidents except Barack.

While there, a local reporter was there and Terry volunteered me to be interviewed for his show.  It's very local so we'll never see it.  Here's a photo of me that she took, with Abe Lincoln, while I was being interviewed.

We received a pass for a year - so we can come back again.

After we left we went for ice cream in the same area at this cute place.

Went to Publix as our larder was bare.

Terry made salmon for dinner.

We are relaxing and trying to absorb that a friend, and former neighbor of Terry's, is seriously ill.

Got an Elizabeth Berg book at the half priced book store.

Great dinner at Ethel and Steve's - forgot to take a photo!

Fun Day

We picked up Arlene and Joan for a run up to The Markets of Marion.  We each bought some things.  It was CROWDED!

We had lunch at Beef O'Bradys at Mulberry.  We had to check out the Beall's Outlet while there.  Terry and I each bought something.

When we dropped off Arlene and Joan, Arlene grabbed an extra bag - Terry's boots that we leave in the trunk!

We changed clothes and went to dinner at Barb and Bernie's.  We had champagne and appetizers out in the bird cage as it was a perfect night for sitting outside.

Barb gave us some lasagne to take home.  Yummy!

After lunch, we went to the post office and Stein Mart, and then to downtown Leesburg to walk the downtown and see old cars.

Thought we'd have dinner from a food truck, but the one I was interested in never arrived.

Running a movie later.

Quick dinner at Sweet Tomatoes- Terry very disappointed that soft-serve ice cream machine was not working.

On to Diane and Tom's to play Dirty Uno with them, Joanne, Karen and Tom.  Also to celebrate Karen's birthday.  Had a fun evening!

BTW if you are keeping track, my mail arrived today!

Cousins

Up and out early for our ride to Orlando to pick up Cousin Harriett.

Harriett's husband had to be here on business and she tagged along.

We went to the Morse Museum to see the works of Louis Comfort Tiffany.  We all also did a little buying in their gift shop.

We then went for a yummy lunch.

Us at Bistro on Park.

We did a little shopping in the neighborhood before taking Harriett back to where they were staying.

A stop at Russell Stover and then home.

Terry is opening her mail.  A first, her mail came and mine did not.  I'll have to call tomorrow!

Maintenance

Today was a maintenance day.

Beauty shop - cut and color.

Terry's stylist moved and since I've not had one stylist, we both moved to new shop...Embellishments!

We also recycled newspapers at the Temple.

Got cash at Chase Bank - love ATM machines!

Had pedicures at Angela's Nails.

Had a late dinner and planned our trip to Orlando to spend day with cousin Harriett, who flew in town today.  Jay is working so we won't see him.

Mt Dora

Terry goes to weigh in while I do laundry and work.

We pick up Arlene and Joan for a day in Mt Dora.

Lunch on the Lakeside Inn's porch.  A little overcast and in low 70's.  Note the sweaters.

Walked around town going in and out of stores.  I bought a pennant and Terry got a scarf that matches a new top as if they were made for each other.

Stopped at Steinmart, to return "lighted mirror" which did not light.  Store closed - doing inventory.

Quiet evening at home tonight.

Shoes and A Farewell

Lazy morning followed by pancakes at First Watch.  Yummy!  Terry had a $2 off coupon- cannot get better than that.

Next went up to Belleview to get shoes!

I bought 2 pairs and Terry got one pair.

These are NOT the ones we bought but shoes that reminded us of our late friend, Barbara.

Barbara loved bling and would have loved these.

Could not pass up a Dollar Tree in the same complex.

Stopped at Public for a few things including their excellent fried chicken, which we had for dinner.

Came home and prepared a flyer for our Sisterhood and Midwest District Sisterhood inviting them to join our Cantor Frost at the Chicago Women's March on January 21st.

Did some reading and then listened to President Obama's Farewell Speech.  What a classy guy!

Mah Jongg

I made an early run to Public to get goodies for our two tables of mah Jongg.

Also filled up on gas.

A little warmer today, but NOT warm.

Ethel, Joan, Arlene, Joyce and Diane joined us.  One table of 4 and one table of 3.  Terry and I stayed at the table for 3 and everyone took a turn being the third.

We forgot to take photos....again!

We had our yummy leftovers from last night for dinner.

I participated in the Township meeting via Google Hangout.

Terry watch Shark Tank in her bedroom.  Den TV messed up.

Busy Day

Did something neither of us has done in years.  We went to a Jewish singles group!

Arlene and Joan had gone last year and asked us to go and the program sounded interesting.

Two men talked about their volunteer work in Israel, working with Sarel.

The lunch was bagels and lox and things people brought.

Bigger crowd than expected so food was a little sparse.

Sat with a nice lady from the Philly area.

Terry pointed out that our horoscope said we should indulge so we went for ribs at Sonny's.

Walked through market night at Sumter and ran into Ethel and Steve.

Christmas Tree still up.

Walking back to our car, we saw a golf car with a traffic boot.
