We left the house fairly early (at least for us) to go to The Markets of Marion and the shoe store in Belleville.
No shoes, but did get sun glasses for my new eye glasses at the Sun Glass place at The Markets of Marion Flea Market..
Had to visit Beall's Outlet in Mulberry - I bought a top, but Terry did not find anything (that is a first).
Came home to read, Terry was doing laundry, and preparing for our New Year's Eve dinner.
Terry out did herself. We had shrimp and champagne to start. Then, steak, baby sweet potatoes, green beans, rolls and butter.
Realizing that we will not make it to midnight, we had our dessert - blueberry pie and ice cream at
9 p.m. Life in the fast lane!!!!

The Car Arrives and is DIRTIER than when i dropped it off
After breakfast, we waited to hear from the transport person. He called about 12:30 to say that he was by the Walmart near our house.
My car was off the truck and looked so dirty, we knew our first stop was for a car wash. We dropped the rental car at the house (cannot return it until Tuesday or Wednesday), took our bags out of the car and headed for the car wash..
Went to the car wash for the works! It's looking so much better.
In the same shopping area is a chicken salad restaurant and we went there for lunch. Yummy!
From there we went to Bed Bath and Beyond for a pillow for me - we'll see if it helps me sleep.
Then we went to explore the new area of Fenney. We had to call for instructions as it was too new for our GPS.
We took Hwy 301 to Hwy 468 (missed it the first time - no sign and poorly marked intersection).
Toured the sales office/recreation center and looked at the Grill, the pool, etc. There was a young family in the pool - it is COLD. Oh, to be young.
It is a good 10 miles from our house and a good 5 miles from the south end of The Villages and Brownwood, the third town center.
We then went and finished our grocery shopping. Got our New Year's eve dinner, appetizer for party on New Year's Day at Diane and Tom's, etc.
Came home to unpack our bags. I still have my office to unpack - just ran out of steam..

Shopped Until we Almost Dropped
We had a quick breakfast (I had brought oatmeal packages) and we added strawberries. Had bought milk last night.
Dressed warmly as it was in the 50's.
Enterprise driver picked us up. Nice gentleman, had been Alumni Coordinator for Georgia Tech.
We got a Nissen Versa (very basic car).
Since we were already in Sumter Landing, we went over to pick up our credentials and their bag of goodies (maps, etc.)
We then went to KeKe's for lunch and then bought out the Dollar Tree in the same shopping center.
On to Office Depot for ink for the printer that is in the car.
Then to Walgreens for vitamins and a few other items.
Tired yet? Then to Walmart for important items - computer paper, coffee, and booze!
Came home and put everything away. A nap was in order, in addition to hot compresses on my stye on the right eye. The eye is so much better than it was last week at this time.
I made dinner! Okay -okay so I just put the chicken on the table, opened a bottle of wine, and threw some greens and tomatoes into two bowls- it was enough to make Terry the cleaner upper..
We drank a toast to the next two months and to our Dad who died 45 years ago today.
Miss him and think about him often.
Just reading now and at 8 p.m. Shark Tank! We know where Terry will be!

We are in The Villages
Long Day!
American Blue Private Car Service picked me up and then picked up Terry (he was early - bless his heart).
We got to the airport early (I know this is no surprise to those of you who know us).
Just as they were getting ready to board - they called my name. Asked if we could manage the exit row. I said I wasn't sure. They asked for other volunteers - needing two people ADULTS traveling together (lots of families with kids on the flight).
I told Terry that I had turned it down, she said she probably would have said yes. So, I went back and said yes, as they had no other volunteers. NICE and roomy. Terry was in the middle, I was on the aisle, but she could get up without my moving!!!
We took the tram between the gate and the baggage claim. Got our bags - they were right there!
Went to the ground level and called Uber. They said they would meet us on the second level - area 31. Went back upstairs and schlepped down the whole baggage claim area and our driver just pulled up. Nice young man - a real talker.
First, we thought we'd go to Enterprise to rent the car, but as we got close to The Villages, it was obvious we would not make it before closing time, so we came directly to the house.
Jen and Clem met us and then took us grocery shopping. We bought chicken and salad for dinner and toilet paper (the house was almost totally out of toilet paper-that could have been challenging).
Had our dinner and helped our tenant with a lock change after she had a problem with the live-in boyfriend or husband (we've never been sure what he is/was).
Car transport called - he's in the Atlanta area. He'll drop my car on Saturday - last stop instead of first stop. Enterprise will pick us up in the morning.

Step One
Here's step one - Marilyn's car ready to be loaded onto a car transport to be driven to Florida.
Of the cars waiting to be loaded, mine appeared to be the only one that was dirty! However, in below zero weather, I was not going to run it through a car wash.
