We Get Lost (Misplaced)

After a quiet morning of reading, doing the crossword (Marilyn) and working, we had a bite of lunch and headed South.

That's South in The Villages, to return two items I purchased yesterday at Anthony's.  While I was doing that Terry took her old glasses (pre-cataract surgery) back to Peepers to have new lens put into the frames.

After those errands were done, we decided to see where the Food Trucks were parked in the new area of The Villages, on the other side of the Turnpike.  Our GPS had a little nervous breakdown and kept telling us to turn where there was no place to turn.  We finally turned her off and went on instinct and found the trucks.  There are two trucks (one with Mexican Food and one with some interesting foods).  There was also a permanent building with a bar and that was jammed.  There was live music and people were sitting outside listening.  It was a little too cold for us to sit outside, but it looked interesting.  We used the washroom and then headed toward Sumter Landing.

Terry had a taste for shrimp so we went to the Lighthouse for dinner.  We each had the shrimp basket.

It was too cool to walk around the square and see who the vendors were for market night.

Terry is working at her computer and getting ready for a conference call with Mindy and their staff.

Sisterhood Friends Lunch

Terry and I had a busy morning, both working on various projects.

Then we dressed and left for Palmer Legends Golf Club for lunch with Sharon and David Silver, in town to have a family reunion.  Arlene, Joan and Ethel also joined us (Steve was learning mah jongg at one of the recreation centers).

We had a nice lunch and visited for a number of hours before it was time to take Sharon and David back to her sister's home.

We then went to Anthony's (a ladies wear shop) and met Ethel there.  We all did a little damage there.
From there we went down to Beall's Outlet and Terry and Ethel did not do as much damage as I did.  I will be taking a few things back to Anthony's after trying them on at home.

We both have been on our computers since getting back home.

I just got notice of my FIRST PENSION check from the Township being deposited into my checking account!!!  Yea me!!!!

Cadillac and Shopping

After getting up fairly early, and having breakfast, we left the house to go to Leesburg to Plaza Cadillac.

My  CUE System was wonky and Foley Cadillac in Northbrook wanted $1400+ to fix it.  After much research, I discovered that Cadillac knew it was wonky, but never issued a recall.  There have been lawsuits, etc. over this system that controls the radio, heat, etc. etc.  I had contacted the Executive Offices of Cadillac and they arranged for the CUE System to be replaced free of charge.  We ran out of time in Chicago to have it done and it was done today FOR FREE in Florida.

After our trip to Cadillac, we both had a taste for bagels from the Brooklyn Bagel place - egg salad on a bagel.  Messy but delicious.

While in the area, we did a Dollar Tree run (have to keep my stock up).  Also hit Stein Mart and we both bought some pj's.

From there, we went to the main post office so I could purchase some stamps.

A trip to Publix, to fill in some things, and we headed home.

Terry made a good dinner of chicken with veggies (cleaning out the refrigerator)  it was yummy.

Mindy sent a text that Terry's grandcat, Oliver, is not feeling so well.  Hope he recovers soon.

I finished the crossword puzzle and read the whole newspaper.  So nice to have the time to do that simple thing.

Bye Reva and Craft Fair

We are all up fairly early so we can have a little breakfast before Reva leaves for Boca.

Breakfast and conversation and then Reva is on her way.

The plant that Arlene and Joan brought is blooming.  We are trying not to breathe on it so it will stay alive.

We do loads of laundry, have leftover salmon and corn casserole for lunch, and rest before getting ready to attack the Sumter Craft Fair.

We pick up Arlene and Joan and head to Sumter.  I'm on a mission, and leave them as I try to find my "earring lady."  But, alas, she's not exhibiting this year!  Boo-hoo.

We meet up again and walk Sumter stores (as Arlene doesn't want to waste getting dressed and putting on make up)! Stores close at 5 p.m. and we head to the car and our respective homes.

We have our leftover Mexican dinner and spending the evening reading the newspaper and resting.

Reva's Visit Day Two

We had waffles for breakfast and sat and talked for a long time.  It was around noon before we were all dressed and ready to leave the house.

We drove down to Brownwood to see the new things there and then over to Fenny for lunch at the Grill.

From there, we had intended to go to the Markets of Marion, but the traffic was so bad, we ran out of time.

Instead we stopped at Beall's Outlet so Terry could return something bought there.

We then went back to the house and napped.

We picked up Arlene and Joan and drove down to Spanish Springs so Reva could get a feel for the entertainment in the squares, but it was too cool to walk around the square.

We went to Ay Jalisco in Spanish Springs for a good meal and more conversation.

Afterward we went to Arlene and Joan's for key-lime pie and tea and more conversation.

BJBE South

We got up fairly early and Terry started preparations for our dinner for our BJBE Friends.

Our friend, Reva Felder, was on her way back to Boca after her visit with her sister in Valdosta, Georgia and stopped to visit us in The Villages.

She arrived in The Villages before noon and we went to The Glenview Country Club for lunch.

After lunch, we did a tour of the Historic Section, Spanish Springs Town Center, and then Sumter Landing before coming home and just sitting around and talking.

Arlene and Joan wandered over and shortly thereafter Ethel and Steve arrived.

We had cocktails and appetizers and then Terry served a wonderful dinner of salad, rolls, salmon, corn casserole, and veggie.  Dessert was apple pie and ice cream.  We are stuffed!

Shopping Day

Terry made us a yummy breakfast of eggs, mushrooms and sliced potatoes!

We left the house around noon (that's good for us).

Went to Goodwill to purchase some more matching drinking glasses. We should be fine now with plenty of glasses.

Rode by the house some people we follow on their RV Blog just purchased.  Blog following is left over from the days when we saw ourselves as RVers in our retirement.  Reality set in and we will not be RVing.

 We were hungry so tried the Cody's up at Highway 42.  We both had bottomless soup and salad.  They were yummy and very inexpensive.  We sat on their semi-enclosed patio and it was very nice.

Since we were at Mulberry, we HAD TO stop at Beall's Outlet over there.  We both did a little damage.

We called Diane and Tom, thinking we would drop by the property they are going to be rehabbing and flipping, but they had just left the property.

We went to the hospital thrift shop and looked around for a scale for my bathroom.  We didn't see one and were ready to leave when I asked if they had any scales.  The sales lady said yes, they were displayed in the public washroom. A gentleman was just coming out of the washroom and we found two scales.  Terry tried them both and said they were accurate and I bought the one for $2 (the other one was $5)!

Sam's Club was our next stop and we purchased some items for the dinner we are hosting tomorrow night.  Thanks to the gift card we got when we became new members, our bill was reduced by $20!

Brought our groceries, etc. home and put them away before leaving for Publix to purchase things we did not need to be giant economy sized.

Finally got home and had leftover pork chop and steak, and a little champagne for dinner.

We are now resting.
