Busy Day

Before breakfast, Marilyn did three loads of laundry!  Also, she answered student's questions.

Shortly after breakfast, we left the house to run errands.

We started at the postal station to mail some mail.

Next was the Hospital Resale Shoppe where we donated our plastic bags.  We swear that the bags have a sex life as they keep reproducing.

We could not be at the Resale Shoppe without looking around.  Terry found a great top on the $1 rack (no tag telling size).  It's perfect.  There was a line for the fitting rooms, so she just bought it. If it did not fit, she would have donated it back.

At Mah Jongg, our friend Joy, who works at the Shoppe, took some shoes that Terry and Marilyn were donating.

We had lunch at KeKe's (our first time this year.) We both had eggs.

We then went to Beall's Outlet, where Marilyn returned a purse she bought the other day.  If you are keeping track, Marilyn kept the two pairs of shoes that she bought at the same time.

Our last stop was at St. Tim's to recycle our newspapers.

At 2:30 Marilyn went into a REALTOR Political Committee Meeting, via Zoom, out on the Lanai.

We both signed up for Barry Bradford's presentation about Jewish heroes of the Civil Rights Movement..  He did the presentation for the Cook Library.

Beautiful day for a ride

At breakfast, we listened to the latest episode of Prosecuting Donald Trump.

We then left the house to meet Dorothy and Steve Stewart for lunch at the Brandon Mall - Bahama Breeze.

We came home and Terry did laundry and Marilyn worked and then rested.

We had a light dinner, watched Jeopardy, and went on to our Zoom Sisterhood Meeting.

Mah Jongg

After working in the morning, and after lunch, we went over to Diane's to meet the girls for mah jongg.

Diane, Joy, Joyce, and Ethel played.in addition to Terry and Marilyn.  WE FORGOT TO TAKE A PHOTO AGAIN.  Ethel leaves in two days.

We stayed after everyone else left so Diane could show us the additional work she has done on the albums of her family and Tom's family.

After viewing Diane's hard work, and engaging with Tom, we left for Publix.

Since we only needed a few things, Marilyn waited in the car.

On the way home we encountered a lone bird on the road.

After dinner, we went on a Barry Bradford presentation on what happened in February.  During the presentation, he went from his second floor office to his basement to finish the presentation because of a tornado warning.  We both were getting the warnings also, even though we are 1,000 miles away.

We never left the house

We both worked a good part of the day.

The cleaning lady came late as her boy friend is in the hospital and she had to run an errand for him in order to keep his job.  He's a sound engineer for The Villages.

She takes twice as long to clean as does our cleaning lady at home.

We had our leftover pizza for dinner, with a little sangria- yummy.

Terry's neighbor called to tell her that another neighbor had passed away suddenly.

Another Beautiful Day in The Villages

After breakfast, we had a Zoom with our cousins Linda and Harriet.  Unfortunately, our cousin Julie had a last-minute conflict.

After a quick lunch, we went to Colony Recreation Center for a craft show.  We bought some little gifts.

Since we were so close to Beall's Outlet, we stopped there and Marilyn bought a purse and two pairs of shoes.  Terry bought a pair of tongs.

We came home and rested until it was time to pick up Joy to go to dinner.

We all had individual pizza and brought home half of our pizza(s) for dinner tomorrow.

We spoke with Jessica about a fund raiser her friend's father is having for the friend, who has breast cancer.   We wanted to donate, but did not want the T-Shirt or a chance to win a fishing trip with the father.  Terry sent Jessica money from both of us via Zelle.

Spent the rest of the evening reading.

Beautiful Day in the 70's and Sunshine

After breakfast, we left the house to run some errands and attend a craft fair at Lake Miona Recreation Center.

Terry and Marilyn each bought some earrings at one table, and then each bought a necklace from Kathy Quinn.

We have bought jewelry from Kathy for years - her pieces are so distinctive.

We next went to Beall's Outlet at Mulberry.  Terry bought some tops.  It was Marilyn's turn to be bag less.

It was lunchtime, and we were at Mulberry, so went to Back Porch.  We shared a chicken quesadilla, and their white chocolate bread pudding ala mode, which is to die for.

.We stopped at Aldi's for some wine.  Terry said the clerk said "have a good weekend." Because all Terry bought was two bottles of wine.

Went to Walmart to pick up Marilyn's prescriptions - NO CHARGE FOR TWO PRESCRIPTIONS!

Dollar Tree and some more birthday cards and then home!

Catching up and Shopping

We both were still in catch -up mode in the morning.

After lunch, we left the house for Marie Rose (a consignment shop) who was having a sale.  Marilyn bought two tops, Terry left empty handed.

Just as we walked out, the rain started, so we headed toward the house.

After 3 p.m., our landlady, Shirley, came over with the new lease for 2025, which we signed.

Marilyn got a text that her premium - forwarded mail had been delivered to the postal station, so we went and picked it up.

Marilyn opened her box, and discovered that a piece of mail that was to have been delivered (was on the daily digest  for 2/15, from the post office) was not in the box.  It had to do with a change to her Com Ed account number.  She was on hold for an hour with Com Ed, and then got hung up on.  Terry showed her how to file a missing-mail report.

After dinner, we went on Shabbat services at our Temple, each on our I-Pad, with ear plugs.

Busy Day

We were both still playing catch up at our "desks".  In addition, Terry did laundry.

We then went onto the Zoom class with Sally - Terry in the "office" and Marilyn on the lanai.

After lunch, we headed out to run errands.

We started out at the post office where Marilyn sent our notarized documents to Tallahassee for apostille.

Next up was Dollar Tree for birthday cards that Marilyn wanted for March and April birthdays, etc.

We needed some cash to pay the cleaning lady, on Monday, so a stop at Chase was in order.

After getting gas, we came home to rest until dinner time.

After dinner, Marilyn watched Jeopardy, and a message appeared on the screen again.  It did go away and Marilyn ignored it.

Chase Bank - Well's Fargo Bank

Marilyn woke up early and did laundry since her laundry basket was overflowing.

We had a quick breakfast (not too healthy) and were out the door to meet Jeff at Chase Bank for a 9 a.m. appointment that Marilyn made to have some documents notarized.  Not only did Chase confirm the appointment by email, but also with multiple texts.  We walked in and asked for the person with whom we had an appointment, and he wasn't in and they did not have any notary! No apology!

We were all furious.  Jeff suggested that we go to Wells Fargo, just down the road.  He's a Wells Fargo banking customer! They took us without a problem and notarized all of our documents, at no charge.

Jeff left to continue his travels - visiting a friend further south in Florida.

We did the ATM at Chase since Terry needed some cash.

We came home to both try to clean off our desks and catch up on emails, etc.

During lunch, we listened to Liz Chaney's book for our class tomorrow.

We both attempted to catch up on reading the newspapers that had piled up.  Marilyn is catching up on the crosswords also.

We had our Glenview leftovers for dinner and it was as good as the first time.  A little wine with dinner was delightful.

Marilyn watched Jeopardy and there was no annoying message on the screen this time.

Terry received a duplicate package from Temu, (original order was lost and then found) inside was multiples of an item she had ordered.

Eaton Beach and Dunning Shaw and Donna Moore

We picked up Jeff at noon, and drove over to Eaton's Beach for lunch.

We went to Publix to pick up some chicken for Jeff for dinner, and other stuff on our shopping list.  Terry shopped and Marilyn waited in the car.

Tonight, was the Michigan Club with Donna Moore and Dunning Shaw.  We sat with Jeff, Joyce, Diane and Tom.  Next to us were Joanne and her son, Kathy and Jack, Pat and Dick and Karen.  Ethel and Steve were at another table.  Next to Diane and Tom were Gloria and Lynn, Nancy, Barbara and Garrett.

Donna as Dolly Parton

Dunning Shaw as Elton John

Sonny and Cher

As Elvis in a fat suit

We listened to the latest edition of Prosecuting Donald Trump.  So many cases, so confusing.

Pedicures, Bus Ride and Eating

After a quick breakfast, Terry and I headed to Angela's nails for pedicures.

We came back home to change shoes and picked up Jeff at 10:45.

First stop was at Too Jays, in Brownwood, for an early lunch.

From there we went to the sales center to catch the 1 p.m. trolley to view the new section of The Villages.

After the trolley tour, we took Jeff back to his hotel so he could rest and we went home where we rested too.

At 5:30 we picked up Jeff at his hotel for dinner at the Glenview Country Club.  It's streak night.  Jeff had steak. Terry had a shrimp dish and Marilyn had chicken parm.

We made it back  home, after dropping Jeff at his hotel, in time to  participate in our Sisterhood Book Club.  Hello Beautiful was the book that we had read and both enjoyed.

Rainy Day and Mount Dora

At 11 a.m. Marilyn went to pick up Jeff at Holiday Inn Express.  Below is a guest of the hotel.

Jeff relaxing in a recliner at our house before brunch.

We had bagels at our house for brunch - Marilyn had lox with her bagel.

We left to go to Mount Dora to the Ice House Theatre to see Leading Ladies.  We all enjoyed the show.  It was fun - a farce.

After the show we went back to the Villages to the Havana Club.  They had a chicken special, but none of us had the special.  Terry and Marilyn had meatloaf and Jeff had a chicken Caesar salad.

THE BIG NEWS OF THE DAY IS THAT JESSICA AND ANDREW GOT ENGAGED TODAY.  Stacy and Mark drove up to Little Chute to celebrate with them and Andrew's family.

Glass Fusion and Cousin Jeff

After breakfast, we went to Laurel Manor Recreation Center for a Glass Fusion Show.  We did not buy anything, though there were some lovely things.

We came home and we had a visitor on the front lawn.

Cousin Jeff arrived into town and we picked him up at the Holiday Inn Express to go for ribs at Oakwood Express.

This photo was taken when he visited us in the Chicago area last fall.  But, the theme is the same we just ate.

We all had ribs.

We dropped Jeff off at the hotel and hopefully he'll get a good night's sleep.

Working, Laundry and Shopping

We both worked in the morning and then did laundry.

Marilyn had an 11 a.m. North Shore Barrington Association of REALTORS' task force meeting to rewrite our political guidelines. We got a lot accomplished and will meet once more before submitting the document to the committee and the Board of Directors.

After resting we left the house to go to Sam's Club for a few items.  We are bringing some dessert for the Tuesday Michigan Club evening with Dunning Shaw and Donna Moore.  We also stopped at the Dollar Tree for some things for the house.

We will be listening to our Temple services on our I-Pads.

Mexico City

After breakfast, while Marilyn was doing laundry, and in between trying to get information from the Des Plaines Post Office, we both went on our I-Pads and watched this program.

During lunch, Terry finally learned that her Premium Forwarded Package WAS NOT mailed yesterday.  I know that will not come as a surprise to any reader of our blog.  She finally reached someone, who is sending her mail OVERNIGHT.  She also found that she is the ONLY Des Plaines Post Office Patron who is using premium forwarding this winter!  Others got wise, or died trying to reach the post office.

We went to recycle our newspapers at St Tim's and then to Publix.

At Publix, Terry found a poor-man's paczki.  While the package says 4 - there are 6.  They are just okay.

After dinner, we watched Jeopardy.  The message about switching to WiFi appeared a few times - very annoying.

We had an hour and a half Zoom with our mahj group.
